Orkidea (Orchid) designed by Timo Sarpaneva in 1954, is one of the designer's most important art glass objects. Sarpaneva came to international attention in the same year at the triennale held in Milan, where he received the Grand Prix award for Orchid.

The orchid has also been voted the most beautiful glass object in the world, "The most beautiful object of the year" according to the American House Beautiful Magazine.
